This week the Mid West Food Industries Alliance wrapped up its 2023 ‘Tastes of the Mid West’ podcast series, an opportunity to hear the stories behind our local producers.

Todd Gray at Triple M sat down with Commission CEO Nils Hay, MWFIA Executive Officer Gillian Johnson and Central Regional TAFE Manager Juan Gutierrez Serrano to discuss all things Mid West WA Food Marketplace at Shore Leave Festival.

The Marketplace is a collaboration between the Commission, the Alliance and TAFE to provide an opportunity for the community to share in tastings of locally sourced produce, prepared by the TAFE hospitality team and local chefs and is just one of the ways we seek to raise the profile of the region’s remarkable diversity of food producers and its food culture and associated industries.

The series has profiled a number of local producers, including Geraldton Fishermen's Co-operative, Illegal Tender Rum Co, 6530 Honey, Red Lime Jones and Chally Bridge Farms, many of whom visitors will be able to meet and sample and purchase their produce on Sunday.
